Make-up Work:
It is the student’s responsibility to find out what work was missed and to get the notes/assignments from the teacher outside of class. All make-up work must be completed outside of class (including tests) and in a reasonable amount of time. If you miss only the day before a test or an assignment is due, you will be expected to take the test as scheduled or turn in the assignment.
Recovery:
In the event that a student’s cumulative grade in the course drops below a 74, opportunities for recovery will be available. In order to eligible for recovery, a student must meet the following requirements.
1. The student must initiate the request for recovery
2. A reasonable time period will be provided for recovery work to be completed, however, all recovery work must be completed before December 3rd.
3. All work required for the course must have been completed and the student must have demonstrated a legitimate effort to meet all course requirements.
It is at the discretion of the teacher as to which method of recovery will be used. The maximum grade that can be earned is 75.
Parental Contact:
The most efficient way for you and your parents to contact me is via e-mail at Bock@fulton.k12.ga.us. My voice mailbox # is 344. Please keep in mind that we do not have easy access to phones. I will not return pager or beeper calls.
Parent Connect is an excellent way to keep track of your progress. Please contact the main office for information regarding registration if you have not already done so.
Chattahoochee Progress Reports will be sent home after the 6th and 12th week of class. If I have your email address, I can email an individual progress report at any time. This information is also available in Parent Connect. (RECOMMENDED)
Honor Code:
As explained in the student handbook, cheating is defined as “the giving or receiving, in any form,
information relating to a gradable experience.” Violations of the honor code will result in a zero for
the assignment, plus an honor code violation form placed in the student’s disciplinary file. Read the
handbook carefully to fully understand what constitutes a violation
Class Rules:
Be in class… and ready to learn … I consider sleeping in class and working on other subjects while in my class to be offensive
Be on time… the tardy rule will be enforced as per the school policy
Be considerate to the teacher, the other students, and any visitors who may enter the classroom. 4.
Foul language is an indicator of a poor vocabulary and is not acceptable in my classroom.
Be prepared to work… which means you should have a pen/pencil, notebook, textbook, and any assignments that may be due. A three-ring notebook is required.
Don’t cheat … plagiarism in any form is unacceptable. Please review the honor code (see above), and understand that next year an honor code violation will send you packing from college. There may be assignments which require you to submit work to turnitin.com.
Don’t cheat yourself; give an honest effort in the classroom. The difference between success and failure isn’t always ability; sometimes it’s a matter of effort.
Please note rules concerning cell phones, CD players., offensive dress, hats , etc.
8. A bathroom pass is available. Do not ask to go to the bathroom during discussion or videos.
I look forward to sharing this next to last semester of your high school career with you.
